📌 Position Overview

The Assembly Fitter will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and testing mechanical components and sub-assemblies of Special Purpose Machines (SPM). This role demands precision, hands-on mechanical expertise, and adherence to industry standards to ensure machines are delivered with accuracy, reliability, and compliance.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical Assembly: Assemble machine parts, sub-assemblies, and fixtures according to engineering drawings and specifications.

• Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, CAD layouts, and BOMs to execute accurate fitting.

• Alignment & Fitting: Perform precision fitting, alignment, and adjustment of mechanical components.

• Tool Handling: Operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

• Quality Inspection: Conduct dimensional checks, tolerance verification, and ensure compliance with QC standards.

• Testing & Validation: Assist in machine trials, functional testing, and troubleshooting assembly issues.

• Safety Compliance: Follow workplace safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

• Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and service teams to resolve assembly challenges.

📚 Required Skills & Competencies

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine components.

• Precision Measurement: Skilled in using measuring instruments for tolerance checks.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve fitting/assembly issues quickly.

• Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with effective communication skills.

🎓 Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter Trade.

• 2–5 years of experience in SPM/industrial machinery assembly preferred.
